Season's Greetings

Before holiday festivities divert and interrupt our normal hobby activities, I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  With space in the library cleared, the tree is up and trimmed.  One week before Christmas is still too early to place all of the gifts under the tree so the space surrounding the tree is a bit barren.

With two weeks remaining in 2024, there still remains plenty of time to paint a few more figures and play one more game or two before closing out the books on 2024.  The gaming table saw another Azukizaka replay on Tuesday with at least one more game on the horizon.
Battle of Azukizaka
While we saw a light snowfall on Monday dropping enough to warrant shoveling, chances to see a White Christmas are low.  In a weak La Niña winter, the Pacific Northwest often sees wetter yet colder conditions.  This Christmas, forecasts suggest a wet and mild Christmas but not a white Christmas.  Looks like plenty of rain for the holiday.  Perfect weather for a few meaningful painting sessions in the early morning quiet.

  2. Merry Christmas Jon. Cold and clear here in La belle France. No chance of snow for the big day as far as I can see. Thanks for a great years entertainment - here’s to the next one!

  5. Weather here is wet and windy, with temperatures up and down but no chance of any white stuff. But then white Christmases are prettty rare hereabouts, with most of our snowfall in the new year.

Nice all-red design for the tree this year. Presume, given the local landscape, it's a real one?

    1. The all-red themed tree is a constant one here but the tree, itself, is an artificial one for safety and convenience.

  7. Merry Christmas, Jonathan! Our tree goes up today. Gifts underfoot do help with the mood, if wrapped puppy proof. It does sound as if you have the rest of the year to do the right things: family, paint & play. Report in as you wish, but enjoy the season as it unfolds.

    1. Merry Christmas, Joe! When the kids were young, the tree went up earlier. Now, ten days before Christmas seems about right.

I hope Santa brings you a few small soldiers or hobby supplies or if you have been very good a new bike. 🎅

    1. Merry Christmas, Ben! Probably no new soldiers or new bike this year. I have more than a lifetime of figures and bought a new bike back in March. Still, I have been very good. There will be a new iPad under the tree, though.

  22. Merry Christmas to you and thanks for sharing so many battle reports and painting pictures. Enjoy the quiet of early mornings in your corner of the world. It is rarely quiet here and never snows (though we do get a touch of frost on high ground every decade or so!)

  24. Merry Xmas to you and yours Jon! No chance of snow at all here, with temps forecast to be about 13C, which is very mild for this time of year! Fingers crossed we get some sun to at least make it feel a bit more cheerful, compared to the wet of last year. Mad that I'm still able to comfortably wear shorts in December!

I might get in some painting if I'm lucky, but with the family all back home for Xmas, space and time will be non-existent, but First World problems and all that;)! Maybe a game in post-Xmas would be nice, but not counting on anything at present, but it would be nice.
