Spanish Mountain Gun and Crew

Back to resurrecting the long forgotten Spanish-American War project.  Off the painting desk this time are two Spanish 8cm mountain guns with crew.  The figures are from Old Glory's 28mm Spanish-American War range.  While head positioning and facial expressions are somewhat exaggerated on a few of the figures, these details are not unfamiliar in Old Glory sculpting.  For these artillerymen, the animation works.  Once I receive a resupply of ground covering tufts, I intend to place a few bits on each base to help camouflage the figure's  base.

    1. I don't see SAW gamed much so I guess it is an unusual period.

  2. Lovely painting, Jonathan. You have an iron in almost every fire!

In case you didn't catch it, Dan Carlin recently did an episode on the S-A war. It was another good one.

I'll look up Carlin's podcast and give it a listen. Thanks for the recommendation!

    2. Monty, I finished listening to Carlin's "American Peril" episode. Terrific stuff! Sure made me reconsider our motives and especially US behavior in the Philippines.
