With weather improving and games-a-plenty, work at the painting desk slows. Still, I manage to keep the brush engaged but not fully.Off the painting desk today is the first of a number of SYW/WAS units being called to the colors. Well, the colors have yet to arrive but you get the picture. Today's offering contains 23 figures of the Piedmontese Monferrato Infantry Regiment. Foot figures are Old Glory led by a Eureka Mounted colonel.With warming temperatures, Spring Run-off kicks into a higher gear this week. A torrent of water is passing through the Spokane Gorge and over the falls. Stopping on the Blue Steel Bridge before I begin the ascent home is a nice break in the daily cycling routine.
Good to see you making new toys! Man that river looks fast. Ever done any kayaking on it?
ReplyDeleteRight now, the river is very fast and extremely cold. Kayaking is not possible in this stretch of the river.

DeleteBeautiful work on the Piedmontese Jonathan. I always feel a sense of impatience when I have a completed unit waiting for their colours to arrive. Do many fall into the river, or is it fenced where it goes through town?

DeleteThe Gorge is mostly fenced but if one was determined to fall in, the effort needed would not be great.

DeleteGood to see the painting continuing apace Jon:). Lovely to see the weather allowing you to get out on the bike too. Our rivers never get to that state (well maybe a few streams do after heavy rain), so wonderful to see Nature in all her fury.
ReplyDeletePainting continues but not sure recent efforts can be classified as “apace”. Painting production is smacking up against one of the seasonal doldrums. Nature can be a powerful force.

Thanks, Ben! The figures are actually 15/18mm. I enjoy the sound of moving water too. The sound of this water volume passing over the falls is deafening.
