Adding Hanoverians to the project opens up many new doors including further expansion into the War of Austrian Succession and the War of Polish Succession. Perhaps even the Jacobite Rebellion? So many possibilities.
Today, two infantry regiments march off from the painting desk. They are Fabrice and Drachtleben. Foot figures are Blue Moon led by a Eureka mounted colonel.

Very nice. I also was tempted by Jacobites but it remains an idea although the Italian Wars might morph into the Peasants War and Flodden.

Great job, Jonathan! The Hanoverians are very good. I look forward to the games on the mentioned wars, especially in the War of the Polish Succession, the Russians first met the French on the battlefield.

Yep. Are you shaking your head in disbelief? There are many battles that open up to refighting once Hanoverians step into the ring.

Who knew the Hanoverians were so versatile and in so many conflicts? Not this guy. but some spiffy miniatures for sure. 😀
Lovely Johnathan. I do like the Hanoverian army and nearly as good as the British of the same period.
Two lovely units and a nice touch to have the grenadiers attached. For my SYW armies I plan to have mine converged, which means a few different uniforms if I want to be authentic in their look. I recommend the '45 for something a bit different and we've had some fun games over the years based upon this rebellion.

Thanks, Steve! I wrestled wit the question of inherent or detached grenadiers. My reading suggests they were integral to the regiment in the earlier conflicts. Hope that is correct since that is my way forward.

I think the Jacobite Rebellion from this time (Culloden was the end of it right?) would be the theme to grab my attention and start collecting.

I painted my own Hanoverian artillery (you surely know the artillery) using some information by the blogger who is so much focussed on the artillery of the period. He wrote to me that it is hard to find information about the Hanoverian artillery. I could send it to you, but it's in German.
