Ancient German Cavalry from 1st Corps

With the ancients project settling into an Impetvs style basing scheme, my 1st Corps cavalry finally made the transition to the larger base size.  The German cavalry, once rebased, created five Impetvs sized stands.  That horseflesh will be most welcome on the battlefield.  These lads will likely be seeing service as generic barbarians to stand in for Celts, Gauls, or Germans.

The 1st Corps cavalry are smaller than the behemoth Renegade cavalry but on the table, those size differences should be less noticeable.

  2. Great looking cav, Jonathan. I would have to agree that 1st Corps would be on the smaller side of 28mm, and Renegade on the larger side. But as you say, they look fine on the table together. Best, Dean

    1. Thanks, Dean. I may have to re-evaluate my position once I get both Renegade and 1st Corps on the same table. Generally, sizes differences disappear during a game.

  3. Great Gauls. While "Rebasing is the Devil's Own Handiwork" (TM), there are times when it *is* necessary!

    1. I really do not mind rebasing too much. Much easier today when bases are pre-cut. Today, it is a pretty quick job. I hated it when I used balsa bases and had to cut each one.

  4. Love the German reinforcements! Looks like its time to send the Romans packing.

    1. Thank you, Monty! Either time to send the Romans packing OR provide the Romans some reinforcements of their own!

    1. Thank you, Phil! 1st Corps are a little towards the 25mm end of the spectrum and not as detailed as some, but I like them.

  6. They look wonderful Jonathan. I particularly like the mix of 'animated', individual figures, makes for a top looking unit. What figures are they?

    1. Hi James! Appreciate your kind comments. The figures are all 1st Corps Miniatures and there is is a lot of variety in their figures. I think the horses are only one or two poses though.

    2. I wondered what the 1st Corps in your description was all about. I am a bit dim, aren't I?!
