While the helmet is a cool headgear, I find the casquet an equally nifty form of head wear. As before, these 26 figures are AB Miniatures. Excellent sculpting!
Next up for the 1799 project will be a selection of artillery for the Austrians and Russians. Until then, painting switches to a couple of small 28mm units.
Another fine unit; the casquet is an interesting and I agree, attractive, variation form the helmets.
ReplyDeleteAlways appreciate your comments, Peter!
DeleteThey look great Jonathan. The revolutionary period is one of my favourites. There are some great looking uniforms in there.
ReplyDeleteIt is an interesting period, for sure. Battles are of manageable size too.
DeleteI agree the Casquet makes an interesting change for the usually helmetted Ivory hordes
ReplyDeleteI prefer the casquet headed Austrians to the helmeted of shakoed ones. Maybe it is simply that we have become so accustomed to seeing Austrians in helmets and shakos that a headgear difference adds interest?
DeleteAnother excellent Austrian regiment!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mike!
DeleteGreat looking minis Jonathan!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Michal!
DeleteAnother fine example of AB goodness Jonathan!
ReplyDeleteChristopher
Thanks, Christopher!
DeleteYour right, they do look good in the casquet as well, another fine Napoleonic unit, long term a period I will get into but I must finish or substantiall reduce what I have before embarking on it!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Thanks, Iain! I wish you the best in your quest for tackling your own lead pile.
DeleteBeautiful Austrians in their distinctive shakos and white uniforms.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Dean!
DeleteYou've done a cracking job on them Jonathan, lovely finish!
