Chain of Command - First Trial

After seemingly years of talking about Chain of Command, we will finally be giving the rules a trial on NOV 7.  Scott is developing the scenario and leading the pack through the rules.  Since I will be hosting the game, Scott sent his scenario map from which to lay out the gaming table.
Scott's scenario map
Using a bit of artistic license to conform to the terrain available, Saturday's game will look like the photo below:
Pretty close but I see now that the orchard could be extended bit.

All we know of the scenario thus far, is,
The scenario will be an advance by an 29th Division infantry platoon against scattered German resistance.
Looking forward to Saturday's game.

  2. Chain of Command is an excellent set of rules. My gaming group and me have been playig now more than 2 years in a row without showing any sign of exhaustation.

I recommend to start with infantry only, then add some supports like artillery off-board, etc and finally introduce the tanks and vehicles.

I reckon that map from the "29 Let's Go!" supplement... a hard one for the US player (I tell you first hand)

    1. Yes, that's the source of the map and the scenario. I did not come up with either!

    1. I am looking forward to trying out the system too.
If this game is successful, I have my own Germans and Brits waiting on deck for games too.

  5. I've just played my third game of CoC last week - will look forward to your opinion Jon! My reference point was earlier games of Bolt Action and Battlegroup Kursk - I think its safe to say CoC is the winner in my opinion.

    1. From BatReps I have read and reviews, CoC looks to be a set of low level rules that would be of great interest to me.

I almost certainly will provide an opinion!

  6. Sweet! I second Anibal and BP. BA is a fun game but CoC presses you in ways that BA does not.

  8. I'm really interested in this one. Although if you guys really get into it, I may need to resist yet another 28mm conversion.

    1. Thanks, Peter. I prefer less drab periods too but I am looking forward to a new system and interesting tactical problems to tackle.
