These 36 figures in three battalions add to the ever-growing complement of French infantry for the 1859 project. By my count, this is the fifteenth regiment of French infantry mustered for the project. With three battalions per regiment, that totals 45 battalions. Not included in these counts are the single battalion chasseurs. The French are becoming a force to be reckoned with.
I really enjoy painting these figures. Good thing. A large pile of these Lancashire Games' French infantry await in The Lead Pile. Seems I add one Battle Pack of 60 figures plus command to my shopping cart every time a sale is offered. I really ought to quit that habit. One day, I may make it through the entire backlog. Not anytime soon but one more regiment is in the painting queue.

Do you have other French troops for this era in proportion to that?!
Lancashire Games figures are an excellent value to start with, and when you throw in the Battalion Pack discount plus a sale discount, they are more or less in Old Glory Army Card territory (aside from the shipping to the US, of course).
Thanks! I do have other French formations including Zoauves, Guard, Chasseurs but could use some effort put into rebalancing the army after the extended work on French line.

Great stuff Jonathan. With 100 line infantry regiments (plus the guard and the African troops) in service at the time you have a few more to go. I love your new copyright notice!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mark. Fortunately, I do not need to paint 100 French regiments. I think that would be undoable. As for the copyright notice, I reluctantly made it more prominent and direct after my complaints resulted in having my account locked without warning or discussion.
