Assyrian Chariot #7 Rehab

With chariot #7 out of the refurbishing workshop, only two more chariots remain.  I am near the end of this portion of the project and look forward to beginning foot and cavalry figure in 2017.
Like all chariots having a yoke, Chariot #7 required removing the yoke, flipping it, and reattaching to the tongue.  One wheel required reaffixing as did two of the crew.  One crewman's arm had come unglued too.  After some paint touch-ups, a stain, and dullcote, this chariot is based and ready for service.  Chariot is from Wargames Foundry.
Seven down; two to go.

  1. Gteat stuff Jonathan! Will you do a "group shot" of them all when they are all refurbished? I am picking that such a shot will be pertty impressive.

  3. Another good looking model. While normally red would be quite striking, in this unit it's one of the more staid mounts. I really like this project.

    1. Thanks! Working on these models has convinced me to forge ahead with a new project. It will be time soon to begin some foot troops.

  4. More goodness. I am trying (without success) to visualise the yoke being put upside down on these models.

    1. I think one of the remaining chariots still has the upside down yoke. I will check and take photo to share.

  6. I like "Seven of Nine"... and the chariot ain't bad either. :-)
You now have more Assyrian 4 horse chariots painted than I do - clearly an unstable situation! I do have several more of the Hinchliffe models that have been awaiting paint for a decade or so; this may be their year!

    1. But all I have are chariots. 2017 ought to see work on fielding the rest of the army...for both of us.

  8. Excellent. The red in the body of the chariot gives the model its punch, I think. They really packed the troops into those things, didn't they?
Looking forward to seeing these battle buggies lined up hub to hub.

    1. Packed into the carts, for sure. Nine chariots lined up will be a good sight. Glad you like it, Michael!
