Great Italian Wars Gendarmes

Following not too distantly in the footsteps of the mounted crossbowmen seen earlier, a five figure stand of mounted Gendarmes moves off the painting desk.  Another quintet of fine Foundry heavy cavalry readies to face all-comers.
With this group, five stands of Gendarmes can now muster for battle.  That number ought to be sufficient to turn back even the most determined adversary.  Besides, that is the last of the Gendarmes in The Lead Pile!

Beautiful work Jonathan, as always. Really nice figures, too.

Great looking unit Jonathan! Gendarmes are my favorite looking units of the Italian Wars and Foundry's are great.

Great looking Gendarmes; reminds me I have a bunch of the Eureka Gendarmes that really should get some paint. Too many competing projects - not that you would know anything about that, eh Jon! :-)

Aaron, you are very kind. Thanks!

Christopher, the Foundry gendarmes are wonderful sculpts as are the Landsknecht foot. This might be the last of the mounted gendarmes needed, though.

Thank you, Phil!

Much appreciated, Peter! Too many completing projects; yeah, I know that situation all too well! The situation helps prevent painting boredom and keeps my motivation high.

Really great Gendarmes - did you back the steel fist kickstarter for the mounted gendarmes?

Jonathan Freitag said...

Thank you, Oli! I did not participate in the kickstarter but the figures sure look good.
