My Grandfather retired back to Virginia, so we had frequent opportunities to tour the many battlefields there. I always come away with a different feel for a battle when I have walked the ground... as well as a sense of awe about the many men who lost their lives in the process.

War is much better waged on the tabletop than in real life!Gonsalvohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16531623280789478092noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2267180105171392028.post-28979397475235692702013-12-11T16:04:02.862-08:002013-12-11T16:04:02.862-08:00It something I would like to visit as that truly w...It something I would like to visit as that truly was a fierce battle indeed!

Christopher Christopher(aka Axebreaker)https://www.blogger.com/profile/13205928451375232865noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2267180105171392028.post-55878480901794752462013-12-11T15:20:37.084-08:002013-12-11T15:20:37.084-08:00Really interesting Jonathan, I wish I had thought ...Really interesting Jonathan, I wish I had thought to see some battlefields when over in North Carolina many years ago.
cheers
paulPaulalbahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03482911273863430204noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2267180105171392028.post-18790019836778520722013-12-11T14:12:26.896-08:002013-12-11T14:12:26.896-08:00Good post, Jonathan and thanks for sharing. It was such a fearsome slaughter and Cold Harbor is the worst. By the end of the campaign, the Union had buried the flower of their army.
