Some new questions have been added to this year's edition of the survey, some response choices have been modified from old questions, and a handful of old questions have been kicked to the side of the road.
You can take the survey at Great Wargaming Survey. Completing the survey takes about ten minutes or less depending upon your familiarity with the questions and your verbosity on the open-ended questions at the end.
Once again, if you would like to have your responses added into the pool of PWJ blog readers, add in "PWJ2026" code along with other comments in the "Final Observations" open-ended question at survey's end. If you want, tack on your initials as a suffix so that we can collectively help recall specific reader responses. With enough interest and sufficient responses, you could see some of the upcoming analyses tailored to this subset of august survey respondents. Last year, I thought this exercise was a fun diversion and helped to profile readership.
From a preliminary listing I saw, this year's survey offers an assortment of enticing incentives to sweeten the pot for completing the survey. One incentive of note is that WSS is offering online (or app) access to the entire WS&S back issue archive for three days.
Go ahead, fill out the survey and try to remember your answers when some of these topics are discussed in analyses throughout the upcoming twelve months. Survey closes on 31 August.
My hope is that this announcement appears in blogrolls before the survey ends!

DeleteThat didn't take long at all, possibly because I can remember some of the questions and responses from last year. A couple of my answers have changed but I think the bulk are the same. I remembered to put the code in at the end so it will be interesting to see how many responses are tied back to your blog Jonathan.

DeleteDone. I did struggle to answer the command size bit, as this very much depends upon the period being played. So Battalion for BKCII, but Brigade-Division for other periods. I also added the PWJ2026 with Steve J at the end!
ReplyDeleteThe command question was a tough one for me to answer too since much depends upon the rules and scenario. Since I most enjoy fighting whole, large battles, I chose “Army” command.

I have surprised myself by thinking I wasn’t too bothered about doing it this year, but you say it has a bit of a refresh, so maybe it has found a purpose in life! DeleteI asked the question last year about why no mention of the GWS within the pages of WSS. My response was that lead times were too large and delay between issues too great. Still, I reckon it would be a useful reminder even if published too early.
